Jim Schaub Bass / Vocals Jim was born and raised in the quite little town of Benson, UT. Music has always been a passion of Jims and besides performing in the Rough Stock Band he also teaches music at North Cache and Cedar Ridge Middle Schools in Cache Valley, UT. When Jim isn’t performing with Rough Stock, he can be heard throughout the area playing Jazz as well. In his spare time (laugh), you may find him on water skis or in winter on the downhill slopes. Besides Jim’s music and skiing hobbies, his real love is his Wife and Children. He also works on his Uncle’s Dairy Farm in his other spare time (laugh). Jim says the Family and the Dairy is what keeps his character in check. Rough Stock wouldn’t be near as dynamic without Jim, he displays much excitement on stage with his occasional Jazz lick in a country song. He never stands still while performing.

Trent Porter Drums I was born and raised in northern Utah and graduated from Roy High in 1991. In school there were only two things that were important, drums and sports. At the age of 12 I started taking drum lessons from a young percussionist Jason Willard. Jason jump started my hands teaching me the art of rudimental snare. When Jason left for college I studied with Dr Don Keipp at Weber State University. He introduced me to a melodic side of percussion teaching me to play the marimba and rag time xylophone. Upon graduating from school I spent the summer at Interlochen Arts Camp. What a summer! After high school I went down to BYU on a music scholarship. While attending BYU I performed in a variety of music groups: percussion ensemble, Jazz band, Pep band, Panoramic Steel (steel drum band), and the wind symphony to name a few. I had the opportunity to go on a tour of Asia performing with the Wind Symphony. During college I took a 2 year break and served a church mission in the Dominican Republic where I learned a love for hand drums, Latin American & Brazilian rhythms. Although I have been introduced to many different percussion instruments I have always been mostly fond of the Drum Set. I grew up listening to guys like Dave Weckl, Steve Gadd, Vinnie C., Dennis Chambers, and of course Buddy Rich. Besides playing drums I also enjoy playing and coaching sports. I have 5 children and in between gigs I spend a lot of time refereeing fights, putting band aids on scraped knees and wiping away tears. But I would not change that for the world. I am having a blast playing with the Rough Stock Band. It is good to be around not only good musicians but good people as well. Trent Porter

Harry Sherman
Lead Guitar / Vocals
Harry Sherman is originally from Greenville, South Carolina, but has been residing in Malad City, Idaho for the past 20 years. Harry likes all kinds of music but admits that Country is his real joy. Harry married Patsy Clark of Malad in 1982. They reside on a small Ranchette barely south of the town of Malad. Playing guitar and singing in front of people is a real treat for Harry but he enjoys several things such as riding the range, doctoring farm animals and such. He also likes yard work, hunting and fishing. Basically anything that has to do with Country in general. Harry is the founder and manager of the Rough Stock Band and feels blessed to have the talents to perform and make new acquaintances when we perform.
